Mercury soars 4-to-12 degrees Centigrade in Himachal  

The heat wave continued across Himachal Pradesh Monday with Una town being the hottest in the state at 37 degrees Celsius.
'Temperature continued to hover above average by four to 12 degrees Celsius in the hill state due to the lack of rain or snow in the region,' Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.
He said Shimla saw high of 24.8 degrees Celsius, which was 11 degrees above average for this time of the year.
While Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded the maximum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius, it was 31.2 degrees at Solan town, 34.5 degrees at Sundernagar in Mandi district, 31.7 degrees at Bhuntar in Kullu district and 30.4 degrees Celsius at Dharamsala in Kangra district.
