Success rates in IAS exams 2009

(a) 4,09,110 candidates applied for the IAS exam.
(b) 1,93,091 appeared in the preliminary examination(47.2% of a)
(c) 12,026 candidates qualified for the main written test (6.22% of b)
(d) 2432 candidates were shortlisted for personality test (20.22% of c)
(e) 875(35.6%) candidates, including 680 men and 195 women, have been recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and other central services.
