In a Press conference Ratan Tata said:

This is an extremely momentous day and a very happy day and this is a very special day because we have been through a rather sad experience from a small quarter of residence of West Bengal despite the state government’s efforts and so quickly and so efficiently and with so much enthusiasm we now have a new home. This new home and new agreement is signed on an auspicious day; the Seventh Anniversary of Chief Minister, Mr. Modi’s leadership, and that’s’ a special occasion for us.

The Nano project was conceived as something that would provide affordable transport to the vast member of Indian families. It has evoked some controversy and has evoked a great deal of ridicule initially but then in the world over, it has re-written some of the rules of the game and the greatest vindication of what we have set out is to do with young team of people is that many companies are now trying to product a small low cost car and where are those cars being produced in India. So India has become the new hub for this activity. It is a great pleasure to all of us that we have now decided to build this in Gujarat, that we have a chance in a very conducive and friendly environment and make some thing that will change the way people travel, not only in India but else where in the world.
