1. Union Public Service Comission (UPSC) organize the exam for recruiting candidates for government jobs.

2. The candidates can apply for any government job by filling the Union Public Service Comission (UPSC) application form. Clearing the entrance examination will open gates to a wide number of government services and posts.

4. • Last date for submission of application form: January 5, 2009.•

5. Date of Preliminary Examination of Civil Service Examination: May 17, 2009.

6.• Candidate must be an Indian for applying for the entrance exam.

7. Candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years of age.•

8. Five % years of relaxation in age is given to the SC/ ST candidates.

9. • The Examination consists of two successive stages:
(i) Civil Service (Preliminary) Examinations (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination.(ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts.•

10. The Preliminary paper will consist of 2 papers; Objective type which carry 450 marks. This is a screening test.• Only those candidates who clear the preliminary test are eligible for admission into main examination.•

11. The Main Examination will consist of a written examination and an Interview Test.• The interview will carry 300 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks)• Marks thus obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination (written part as well as interview) would determine their final ranking. Candidates will be allotted to the various Services according to their ranks..
