11 more fall to flu, toll reaches 156  

NEW DELHI: Eleven more swine flu deaths were reported from across the country on Thursday one in Delhi and five each from Maharashtra and Karnataka raising the H1N1 toll to 156. 

The national capital reported the maximum 68 cases followed by Karnataka (32), Maharashtra (26), Tamil Nadu (19) and Haryana (14). So far, samples from 27,070 people have been tested for swine flu, out of which 5,611 have tested positive .

The prestigious Doon School in Dehradun suspended its classes on Thursday till September 21 in the wake of five students testing positive for H1N1 virus on Tuesday. We are monitoring the situation on the campus continuously and our doctor is keeping the authorities fully informed, a school spokesperson said.

Delhi reported its fifth swine flu death when a 12-year-old girl undergoing treatment succumbed to the viral infection. The condition of a 35-year-old man has been described as critical.
