The festival of Bhai Dooj also called as Bhai Bij, Bhaubeej or Bhav Bij
Bhaubeej festival is after 2 days of diwali celebration which is on 19th ocober 2009 , On the day of Bhaubeej or Bhai Bij sister’s invite their beloved brothers for a sumptuous meal mostly preparing their favorite dishes.
The festival signifies the duty of a brother to protect and guide his sister , also a sistersblessings for her brother.
Bhai-dooj Festival is celebrated all over the India.
Bhai Dooj is the Hindu festival of India which is celebrated on the fifth day of Deepavali or Diwali between brothers and sisters to strengthen the bond of love they share. It is one of the most awaited festivals in India. Every year the festival comes two days after Diwali in Kartik month. ‘Bhai’ means brother and ‘Dooj’ means two days after new moon. On this auspicious day, sisters put tilak on their brother’s forehead and pray for their long life. In return, brothers pamper their sisters and promise them to stand by their side in all hardships of life. Sisters send Bhai Dooj sms and messages to their brothers and invite them to their house.
