Goa government is examining the possibility of banning Sanatan Sanstha, the right wing group suspected to behind the blast in Margao last week.

"We are examining whether the outfit can be banned. There is no formal decision on the issue," State Advocate General Subodh Kantak said today.

The law department is examining whether it (Sanatan Sanstha) can be banned centrally or a state specific ban can be imposed, he said.

Sanatan Sanstha is under the police scanner after a blast in Margao on Diwali-eve killed two of its activists.

The role of this outfit, allegedly linked to Malegaon blast accused sadhvi Pragya Singh, in the blast figures prominently after two of its activists, who died in the blast, were named as prime accused in the case.
