Dimple Yadav suffers defeat in Firozabad

Firozabad: Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav's dream to reach the Lok Sabha in 2009 shattered as she lost by-elections to Congress candidate Raj Babbar.

The defeat came as a great shocker to Dimple as senior SP leaders were confident of securing seat which was left by Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav.

Babbar's bagged seat by securing 3,12,728 votes. It shows that voters of Uttar Pradesh are turning towards Congress as far as Centre is concerned.

As many as 2,27,385 votes were bagged by Dimple. It was a poor show for BSP here as its candidate SP Singh Baghel finished third by securing 2,13,571 votes.
