New faces get ready for Tournament
Director Lal is back with Tournament in which he has chosen his mentor and guru Fazil's son Fahad to play the hero's role.
Remember Lal and Siddique were former assistants of Fazil. Later they debuted together as Siddique Lal and was the most successful director duo in the history of Malayalam cinema, before they split.
Fahad was launched by his father a few years back, but fizzled out. He did a very impressive cameo in Renjith's Kerala Cafe. Now with Lal's backing, the young man is sure to go places once Tournament releases for Christmas.
Rupa Manjari is who made her debut in Tamil with the romantic comedy Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru is making her Malayalam entry with Tournament. She plays Lakshmi a freelance photographer who meets six cricket players during a trip from Kochi to Bangalore for the IPL match. Lal is introducing a unique game show for promoting his new film Tournament. The film with a bunch of youngsters in the lead role is very crucial for Lal. This is his first solo directorial attempt without the Harihar Nagar team. Lal is aiming to attract the youth and that is why he has started this game show throwing some surprise gifts.
