GMADA to cancel 150 quota plots in Aerocity

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has decided to cancel as many as 150 plots under reserved categories of the Aerocity, the first residential urban estate, as the allottees have failed to submit their original documents despite several notices and hearings.The authorities have now fixed January 4 as the deadline, after which their plots would be cancelled and would be considered for the applicants in the waiting lists.

Aptitude class for 10 cbse/Model question paper for maths, science

Students of class X from CBSE schools are looking forward to the first-ever Students Global Aptitude Index (SGAI) exam on Saturday. The approximately two-and-a-half hourpaper-and-pencil test is set to comprise a battery of aptitude tests combining the interest profile of a student.
"Students are looking forward to it but there is no stress about the exam. We don’t really know too much about what we will be writing so everyone is keeping cool. We are going in with an open mind. We were told it would test our intelligence quotient, scientific, mathematical and general knowledge," said Dhruv Bhat D of P S Senior Secondary School in Mylapore.

HP recalls battery for models since 2007

Most of the HP laptop users will have the complaint of the system getting overheated and there is no better way to reduce the overheat of the system.Many recall systems were earlier announced for batteries by HP.But this the first time in the history HP is conducting the recall program for a large number of batteries

Recall was made earlier this Friday and this recall is in continuation with the latest earlier recall which was for around 70,000 batteries.Recall program would be valid for batteries sold Since August 2007 till 2008.

Tata Group's Ratan Tata Claims Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s Letter Is Politically Motivated

Tata Group Chief Ratan Tata replied to Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s letter over government telecom policy and said that his letter seemed to be “politically motivated”.

Tata said, “Recent policy (allocation of licences in 2008) broke the powerful cartel which has been holding back competition and delaying the implementation of policies.”

About the telecom policy of the government he said, “We should all note that many of the flip—flops in the telecom policies occurred during the BJP regime.”

Mohan Bhagwat Claims Ayodhya Verdict Does Not Solve The Land Dispute

Mohan Bhagwat, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief changed his stand on the Allahabad High Court’s Ayodhya verdict and said that the verdict does not resolve the land dispute issue.

Mohan Bhagwat further said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is against the partition of the disputed Ayodhya land. He says that dividing the land in a 2:1 ratio between the Hindus and the Muslims is not a solution to the dispute.

However, soon after the September Ayodhya verdict, Bhagwat was in favour of the verdict saying, "We should not take it as a victory or defeat. This is the opportunity for us to show our unity as a country."

Government Steps In To Check Onion Price

With onion price rocketing and ending up at Rs 85 per kilo on Tuesday, the central Government had to step forward willing for some supportive action against the price rise. On Wednesday as a measure to curb price rise, Centre has said that customs duty on imports of the commodity was brought down to zero to 5 percent.

While talking to reporters, Finance secretary was quoted as saying "The customs duty on onions has been brought down to zero."

In order to check illegal hoarding the authorities have conducted raids in Delhi’s Azadpur and Ghaziabad wholesale markets.

The government had to take such a step as onion prices was soaring high touching the 80 mark. It was found that there was a hike in the onion price after excessive rain perished the crops in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and a few other southern states which are the key producers of onion in the country. But from Rs35 -40 it rose to Rs80 when the marketers made wrong use of the occasion for illegal hoarding, leading to a vast scale of onion deficit in the retail market.

2G Scam: Opposition Rejects Special Parliament Session Offer By Government

The Opposition rejected the government’s offer to hold a special Parliament session to debate the 2G spectrum allocation case on Thursday.

Ravi Shanker Prasad of BJP said, “If Congress has nothing to hide why it is shying away from a JPC inquiry. They should form a JPC and probe would bring out everything. Why PM is not ready to face a JPC, even as he offered to appear before the Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee on the 2G spectrum allocation?”

Opposition leader Sushma Swaraj said, “We do not want any debate. We want an inquiry. The government should form a JPC to probe it (2G scam).”

Corruption affects the poorest the most, whether in rich or poor nations.

The issue of corruption is very much inter-related with other issues. At a global level, the “international” (Washington Consensus-influenced) economic system that has shaped the current form of globalization in the past decades requires further scrutiny for it has also created conditions whereby corruption can flourish and exacerbate the conditions of people around the world who already have little say about their own destiny.

Anees Bazmee's next romantic comedy Ready which features Asin and macho man, Salman Khan is slated to film an item song worth a whopping amount of 2.5crores!

Although item songs by themselves are not a new tr

adition, and are here to stay, the movie-makers of this particular number are claiming it to herald a whole new range of item songs! Whereas in most such chartbusters, the most recent ones being Munni Badnaam Hui and Sheila Ki Jawani, Ready's item song will not focus on the dancing item girl, but on the family dancing as the theme of the song is wedding based. The marriage of course is of the two main leads which quite easily shifts most of the focus on them.

An elaborate set for this special song was put up at Film City, Goregoan. The talked about song took six days to shoot and consisted of 100 dancers excluding the two main leads and another 100 extras to fill up the space.
