Prominent Marathi Poet & Writer Shantaram Nandgaonkar Passed Away

Eminent Marathi poet, writer, lyricist and music director Shantaram Nandgaonkar died here on Saturday morning after a long illness from Alzheimer’s disease, a family member said. He was 75 years. he was suffering from the disease from past three years.
Nandgaonkar is survived by his wife Vrinda, sons Prashant and Milind, daughter Sharmila, and grandchildren. The funeral will be held on saturday at Khar crematorium.
He wrote the song “Ya Duniyemadhye Thambaayela Vel Konala”. This song was sung by cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar.
