It's a ship that is designed to escape detection by normal radars and surveillance equipment. Special aerodynamics, equipment and material in used in designing and building these ships makes it very difficult to monitor their movements. That's why they are called 'stealth frigates.' It's called the INS Shivalik, and it's the first ship built by India designed to escape detection by normal radars and surveillance equipment. The "stealth frigate" INS Shivalik was inducted into the navy on Thursday in Mumbai. Special aerodynamics, equipment and material in used in designing and building stealth frigates makes it very difficult to monitor their movements. Built at Mumbai's Mazgaon Docks, the Shivalik has credible defence against nuclear, chemical and biological attacks. The warship has powerful communication and networking systems and a sophisticated missile system. Two more warships are also currently being built in Mumbai. The Shivalik class warships will be the mainstay frigates of the Indian Navy for at least the next 50 years.      vpost : 01
