Police catched high tech copying racket
Police busted a high-tech racket and arrested eight persons outside the examination centre for the posts of panchayat development officer (PDO) in Gangavati on Sunday.
At a press meet in Gangavati, SP Eshwarchandra Vidyasagar said that the arrested have been identified as Hanumanthappa Gurulingayya, commercial tax officer from Hubli, Balaswamy Tayappa, assistant commissioner (probationary), department of commercial taxes from Dharwad, Anjaneya Venkatesh, sub-inspector, Excise Department from Sindhanoor, Sanjeev Venkatappa, Rajashekharappa Gurusangappa, lecturers from Siddarameshwar College, Belgaum, Vittal Mansingh Chauhan, a granite businessman from Bagalkot, Shrikant Avinash Jadhav, a computer technician, and Anand, a driver from Hubli.Two cars, Rs five lakh and some books were recovered from them. According to the police, the accused were receiving questions and answers through mobile phone calls and relaying it to the examinees, prior to entering the hall.
