Maoists attack pvt plant in Bihar, abduct six security guards
PATNA: Armed Maoists on Wednesday attacked a plant owned by a private road construction firm in Maoists-hit Jamui district of Bihar and kidnapped six of its security guards.
Over 400 ultras raided the SMPL's plant at Hariondhi village and damaged payloaders and three trucks, ADG (headquarters) Neelmani said.
They also kidnapped six private security guards employed by the company, he said.
The senior police officer said that though Special Task Force (STF) personnel assisted by district armed policemen engaged the Maoists in an encounter for some time, they managed to escape in the thick forest area on Jamui-Chakai road.
Alleged non-payment of money demanded by the Maoists from the private firm owner was reported to be the reason behind the attack, Neelmani said.
